Job summary

The Building People, a leading facilities and security solutions provider, is seeking a Part Time Security Guard in Glenside, PA. Two shifts: 12am-8am Sat/Sun and 8am-4pm Sat/Sun.

The role emphasizes professionalism, access control, CCTV monitoring, and safety practices to protect facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include securing entry points, monitoring alarms, maintaining logs, supporting emergency drills, and coordinating with local responders.

Qualifications

• Background check and clearance are required.
• HS diploma or GED with two years of trades schooling.
• OSHA certified and PPE training completed.
• Proficient in documenting maintenance and security records.
• Familiar with CMMS software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer access control for all visitors.
• Monitor CCTV, patrol, and operate building systems.
• Secure exterior entry/exit points.
• Encourage energy-saving practices (lights off when not needed).
• Record alarms, hazards, and abnormal conditions.
• Assist emergency personnel and participate in drills.
• Maintain daily logs and support research operations.

Position Description/Summary

Position Description/Summary: The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Part Time Security Guard. We have two shifts available for this position. 12am-8am Saturday/Sunday and 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. The Security Guard will have a strong focus on professionalism and site security. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in site-security in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments. Responsibilities/Duties:

• Administer building security access control procedures for all visitors
• Conduct monitoring utilizing CCTV, walking patrols and building management systems
• Secure all exterior entry and exit points
• Conduct good energy conservation practices such as turning off lights
• Check for proper operation of vital equipment, various other systems and lighting operations
• Check for alarms, hazards, spills, floods, and record any abnormal conditions
• Receive and assist local emergency personnel
• Monitor 24 hour research operations and initiate appropriate responses to mitigate research/equipment facility loss
• Maintain daily logs and records
• Participate in emergency drills

And other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Clear background investigation.
• Clear driver's license and have reliable transportation to work

Required Experience

• Sufficient experience and knowledge of uniformed guard services

Required Education

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, with two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC.
• OSHA certified and trained in the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
• Shall be proficient in brazing and soldering techniques

Salary

• Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
