Allied Universal® in San Jose, CA is seeking a part-time Security Guard (Walking Patrol) to protect a technology location. You will conduct unarmed patrols, monitor access, assist employees and visitors, and respond to incidents with professional discretion.

The role emphasizes customer service, attention to security procedures, and a flexible day schedule on weekends and weekdays. A guard card/license and HS diploma are preferred; 6 months security experience is required when applicable.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by following security procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of office areas, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeters to identify anomalies.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly and report to leadership when needed.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and maintain daily activity logs.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, lobbies, parking areas, building perimeters, and other assigned locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, or facility concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials as assigned, and report access-control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting emergency services or Allied Universal leadership when needed.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and maintain accurate daily activity logs for patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
