Job summary

Allied Universal® in Tampa, FL is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Guard (Patrol Driver) to protect shoppers, tenants, visitors, and staff at a retail mall location. This role offers flexible day/evening shifts and a chance to earn by claiming additional shifts through our Claim a Shift platform.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, at least one year of security experience, a high school diploma, and a background check.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and mall personnel while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events calmly and coordinate with appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas and parking zones.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to deter unauthorized activity and support a safe environment.
• Document incidents and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or mall personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, loading zones, and perimeter areas.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, hazards, and policy violations to help deter unauthorized activity and support a welcoming environment.
• Document incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
