Job summary

Allied Universal in Memphis, TN is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Guard to protect clients across tech, media, and telecom sites. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, monitor access points, and assist with badge-related activities while delivering exceptional customer service.

This position offers a flexible schedule, with driving duties at select posts. Prior security experience and a valid driver’s license are helpful; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, entry points, and other assigned areas to identify and report unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to maintain an orderly environment for personnel and authorized guests.
• Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.

What You'll Do:

• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, entry points, and other assigned areas to help identify and report unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to maintain an orderly environment for personnel and authorized guests.
• Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
