Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen to be conducted as allowed by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors and the public while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Maintain an armed presence in accordance with laws, licensing requirements and Allied Universal policies and report concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and coordinate with emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, entry points and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access activity, verify visitor authorization and document incidents using site procedures.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Deterrence in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $33.70 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government office location.
• Maintain an armed presence in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies; report observed concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; request additional assistance and support emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, entry points, public-facing spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access activity, verify visitor authorization as directed, maintain accurate daily activity reports, and document incidents using site-required procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
