Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in New York, NY to provide reliable security and customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts, designed to supplement income while building experience in the industry.

Pay rate is $18.87 per hour. A background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law, and a NYS Security Guard License is required to qualify

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, entrances, exits, and common areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with access control and directing individuals to appropriate resources or locations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and shift documentation regarding incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related activities.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
