Security Guard Part Time

Location: Site A-30, Eglin Air Force Base, FL

Position Number: R-31-25

Classification: Security Guard (Part Time)

Grade: Non-Exempt; Regular, Part-Time

Essential Functions: Enforces security regulations, responds to incidents, exercises judgment, demonstrates proficiency with firearms and special weapons, and maintains physical fitness standards.

General Duties:

• Protect property and persons from hazards or interference.
• Serve at fixed posts, patrol, escort persons or property.
• May be deputized to make arrests and assist visitors.
• Record events, security checks, and incident reports.
• Exercise discretion in emergencies and security violations.
• Operate emergency equipment and follow security procedures.
• Dependable for minimal supervision, typically reporting to a guard supervisor.

Other Duties

Prepare schedules, review reports, operate patrol vehicles, liaise with law enforcement, monitor emergency equipment.

Requirements

Must read, write, communicate clearly, be dependable, enforce regulations, demonstrate use of force and firearms safety, and be eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Primarily office or guard post, with exterior patrols in inclement weather. Must lift up to 50 pounds, walk, run, bend, and climb.
