Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and critical situations with calm problem-solving, escalating concerns per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and observe activity to deter unauthorized access and theft-related activity.
• Document observations and daily activities; communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Emergency Preparedness in Joliet, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.21 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and team members by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site‑specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe activity to help deter unauthorized access, theft‑related activity, and policy violations.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
