Job Description

As a Security Guard Overnight Screening in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener supporting a government airport development location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening people and property, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service while helping to deter incidents through professional presence and clear communication. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at an airport development location.
• Screen individuals, packages, deliveries, and authorized property in accordance with established procedures; identify prohibited or suspicious items and elevate concerns through appropriate channels.
• Monitor entry points and restricted areas, verify credentials and authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access to airport-related facilities and work areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business spaces, construction zones, access points, and perimeter areas, as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
