Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard Overnight Screening in Fort Lauderdale, FL to protect clients across government and other sectors. You will screen people and property, monitor access, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service.

This front-line role requires sharp observation and clear communication as part of a collaborative team. The position is full-time with night shifts, offering benefits and a pathway for career growth within a trusted security

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• State, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and access-control policies.
• Screen individuals, packages, deliveries, and authorized property per procedures; identify prohibited or suspicious items and escalate as needed.
• Monitor entry points and restricted areas, verify credentials and authorizations, and deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations and actions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business spaces and perimeter areas, as directed by site procedures.

As a Screener supporting a government airport development location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening people and property, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service while helping to deter incidents through professional presence and clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at an airport development location.
• Screen individuals, packages, deliveries, and authorized property in accordance with established procedures; identify prohibited or suspicious items and elevate concerns through appropriate channels.
• Monitor entry points and restricted areas, verify credentials and authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access to airport-related facilities and work areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and document observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including business spaces, construction zones, access points, and perimeter areas, as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
