Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly and professionally, notifying needed personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, offices, entrances, and the perimeter.
• Document observations and security-related activities accurately in systems.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, researchers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with the protection of collections, exhibits, reading rooms, and other sensitive areas.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public galleries, collection areas, offices, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
