The State of Oklahoma is looking for a qualified Security Guard II to perform law enforcement duties at a state facility in Muskogee. You will be responsible for conducting patrols, directing traffic, and supervising other staff members.
Applicants must have at least two and a half years of experience in security or law enforcement and maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver License. Various requirements for overtime and physical fitness standards also apply.

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving law enforcement duties at a state agency, institution or facility. This will include conducting patrols in an assigned area or location to enforce laws and rules and provide protection for individuals and property within the assigned area of responsibility.
This is the leadership level where employees are assigned responsibilities involving the supervision of others in performing police and security work. This will include scheduling employees for duty, making visits to assigned posts to review operations, developing and conducting training, and otherwise planning and controlling the operations of an assigned unit or shift.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of two years and six months of experience in security or law enforcement work or direct care of juveniles in a secure residential facility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of routine police and security practices; of state and federal laws related to public safety and criminal conduct; of traffic control; of methods and techniques used in conducting investigations; of emergency response procedures; of first aid techniques; and of supervisory principles and practices. Ability is required to follow oral and written instructions; to give clear and concise directions; to make oral and written reports; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to effectively evaluate emergency situations; to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations; to perform advanced level police and security work; and to supervise the work of others.
