Job summary

Triple Canopy and Constellis provide security for state buildings in the Sacramento, CA area. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access, and maintaining security in facilities with 12-hour shifts and physical demands such as standing for long periods and climbing stairs.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Pass and maintain medical and physical fitness standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the entry and exit of personnel at User Agency facilities.
• Inspect facilities to ensure doors, windows and roofs are secure.
• Protect state property and deter theft or criminal activity as a visible security presence.
• Maintain security logs.
• Maintain high visibility and assist with directions and minor problems.
• Observe and report urgent or suspicious situations to appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Prepare incident reports pursuant to subsidiary agreements.
• Stand for extended periods, climb stairs or ladders, and walk on uneven terrain.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Triple Canopy and Constellis' Security Guards provide general security for building patrons and the general public at various state buildings within the Sacramento, CA area.

PAY TRANSPARENCEY/COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate - $16.90/hr

Health and Welfare - $12.46/hr (Cash in Lieu Available)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor the entry and exit of personnel at User Agency facilities
• Inspect facilities to ensure doors, windows and roofs are secure
• Protect state property and deter theft or criminal activity by serving as a physical presence or visual deterrent while making security checks throughout User Agency facilities
• Maintain security logs
• Maintain high visibility, answer routine questions for directions and handle minor problems
• Observe and immediately report urgent and suspicious situations to the appropriate personnel, and/or emergency services via telephone, radio or any means possible
• Prepare incident reports pursuant to the terms of the subsidiary agreement
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk-up inclines and on uneven terrain.
• Officers must be able to work on your feet for a 12-hour shift. This includes patrolling indoors and outdoors, walking upstairs, and standing at ID check posts. Officers will have to communicate with state employees and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
