Job summary

Triple Canopy is seeking a professional, high-level unarmed security officer to protect personnel, visitors, and property for multiple buildings in the San Diego, CA area. The role requires vigilant perimeter and internal security, threat monitoring, and professional conduct.

Responsibilities include screening visitors, reporting incidents, maintaining access controls, patrolling on foot or by vehicle, responding to alarms, and providing first aid when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• US Citizen with social security card.
• Current Driver's License.
• CPR/AED/1st Aid Certification.
• Must meet medical, physical, drug test standards.
• Must pass psychological assessment.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activity.
• Background screening required.
• Training and certification completion required.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for various buildings by conducting perimeter security and internal security.
• Protect personnel and property in a professional manner.
• Meet and deal tactfully with the general public and visitors.
• Screen and process visitors as required.
• Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules.
• Conduct roving vehicle, bicycle, and foot patrols.
• Traffic control as necessary.
• Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Secure entrances and exits during emergencies.
• Control keys and lock combinations.
• Communicate via two-way radio or company cellular phone.
• Observe and report offenses/incidents; complete all required reports.
• Provide first aid and CPR as necessary; assist during emergencies.
• Maintain mandated training; comply with safety programs.
• Work required attendance; adapt to busy multi-building environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide professional, high-level unarmed security services for the personnel, visitors, and property of various buildings within the San Diego, CA area.

PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION

Rate of Pay: $28.00/hr

Paid training at a full hourly rate

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide security for various buildings by conducting perimeter security, internal security, threat monitoring, etc.
• Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
• Meet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitors
• Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors as required
• Identify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations
• Conduct internal and external roving vehicle, bicycle, and/or foot patrols
• Traffic control as necessary
• Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies
• Secure entrances and exits during emergencies
• Control keys and lock combinations
• Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone
• Understand and comply with all requirements, plans, policies, procedures.
• Observe and report all offenses/incidents including suspicious activity
• Complete all reports and paperwork as required
• Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
• Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with state and company guidance.
• Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
• Support safety programs; participate in Quality and Process Improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular, in-person attendance is required.
• Work is typically based in and around a busy multi-building environment subject to frequent interruptions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must meet one (1) of the below experience requirements.
  • Prior Law Enforcement Officer graduated from official Law Enforcement Academy OR
  • Prior military with honorable discharge at a rank of E4 or above OR
  • Four (4) years of licensed armed security officer experience (Less Than Lethal acceptable), with demonstrated advanced training in security skill sets and proficiencies and a security vendor service record free of adverse actions OR
  • Five (5) years unarmed experience, and (2) years armed experience (less than lethal acceptable), and/or (2) years honorable military service with honorable discharge AND
• Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent from a U.S. Accredited School. Foreign education must be evaluated to meet U.S. education requirements.
• Must be a US Citizen with social security card.
• Current Driver's License.
• Current CPR/AED/1st Aid Certification.
• Must meet all medical, physical, drug test standards.
• Must be able to pass psychological assessment.
• May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent running, continuous and prolonged standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending without the aid of any walking assistance device. Must be physically capable of riding a bicycle and/or operating a motor vehicle throughout the course of a workday. May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather.
• Meet background screening requirements.
• Successful completion of Training and certification.
