Job summary

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Springfield, IL. You will provide patient and visitor support while patrolling healthcare facilities, maintaining a visible security presence, and ensuring a safe environment.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, monitoring entrances, and documenting incidents. Schedule is Thu-Sun 2:00 PM–10:00 PM with a pay rate of $21.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment.
• 18+ years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate with site contacts and leadership.

Security Officer Full Time Patrol

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to patients, visitors, and staff. You will support a welcoming environment through routine patrols, teamwork, and integrity while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people‑first culture.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site‑specific procedures, assisting with directions and escalating unusual activity as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
