Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Patrol Technology in Sterling, VA to protect clients across tech/telecom sites, monitor areas, deter incidents, respond to alarms, and uphold excellent customer service.

You will perform patrols, manage access, log activities, and coordinate with responders, with a focus on safety, integrity, and teamwork within a dynamic, community-minded workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology location by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations following escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior perimeter, parking areas, data infrastructure areas, and other locations to identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and authorized entry procedures while maintaining logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding observed conditions and needs.

What You'll Do

• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior perimeter, parking areas, data infrastructure areas, and other assigned locations to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and authorized entry procedures while maintaining accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding observed conditions, incidents, and operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
