Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Front Desk Security Professional at a Detroit educational campus. You will greet students, staff, and visitors, control access, and support security communications.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry, logging visitors, responding to incidents, and coordinating with emergency responders as needed. A high school diploma and background screening are required, with CPR and licensing considerations as applicable.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law.

As a Front Desk Security Professional at an educational location, you will serve as a welcoming, visible presence while supporting access management, visitor interactions, and security-related communication. You will help create a positive environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests through exceptional customer service and professionalism. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue - 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Wed - 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri - 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat - 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun - 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures and supporting a welcoming front-desk environment.
• Monitor access to the educational facility, verify visitor credentials as directed, maintain visitor logs, and communicate entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Answer phones, provide general directions and information, receive deliveries, and assist with front-desk communications in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and security-related incidents while maintaining accurate daily activity and incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
