Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring an Unarmed Patrol Security Guard for a prominent cultural institution in Philadelphia, PA. The role emphasizes customer service, visible security, and visitor support within galleries and restricted areas.

As a Full Time position, you will monitor access, respond to incidents, conduct patrols, and help ensure the protection of artwork and people.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Monitor access points, galleries, public areas, and restricted spaces; verify credentials and direct guests in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout exhibition spaces, offices, collection-related areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations as required.
• Help support the protection of artwork, collections, property, and people by reporting suspicious activity, prohibited items, unauthorized access, and damaged conditions in accordance with site-specific policies.
