Job Description

As a Security Guard Full Time Access Management in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic higher education location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide welcoming customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a positive campus environment. Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Wed: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Fri: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, and maintain visitor access records in accordance with campus procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, unauthorized entry concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Communicate access concerns, unusual activity, and incidents to appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
