Job summary

Allied Universal, Jersey City, NJ, seeks a Security Guard – Foot Patrol PT to protect clients across financial institutions and other sectors. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you will patrol interior and exterior areas, greet staff and visitors, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional presence.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities at a financial services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify identifications, direct visitors per site procedures, and maintain a professional presence.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, relay alarms, dispatch assistance, and coordinate with site leaders and responders as directed.
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs with accurate details.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and direct visitors according to site procedures while maintaining a professional presence.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including receiving and relaying alarms, dispatching assistance, and/or coordinating with site contacts and public responders as directed.
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs with clear, accurate details, and report maintenance issues and/or hazards observed during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
