Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors per policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity or hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate with Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Reconnaissance in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 07:00 PM - 11:59 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, hazardous conditions, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership, campus representatives, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
