Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Washington, DC. This role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional hours through our platform, supporting a flexible schedule while aiming for a path toward full‑time work.

Pay rate is $24.44 per hour, with 18+ eligibility for unarmed work and 21+ for armed roles. Duties include customer service, regular patrols, access control, incident response, and detailed reporting at a commercial real estate

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, lobbies, common areas, parking facilities, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Complete detailed daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs while communicating relevant security‑related information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

DayTimeSun03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
