Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Houston, TX. The role offers fixed shifts with additional on-demand opportunities and a competitive $15.50 per hour pay rate.

You will work a DayTime shift on Thursdays with the possibility to pick up extra shifts across sites, providing reliable hours and flexible income while supporting client security and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees following security procedures and site policies.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouses, docks, yards, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized access.
• Verify credentials, direct visitors and deliveries, and maintain visitor/vehicle logs.
• Observe shipping and receiving activity and report security concerns and complete required reports.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Driver in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors and delivery personnel, and maintaining visitor and vehicle activity records in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe shipping and receiving activity, report damaged barriers, unsecured doors, lighting concerns, and other security‑related conditions, and complete required reports.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
