Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Washington, DC to provide reliable, site-specific security and customer service. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via the scheduling platform, supporting income growth while maintaining a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years of security‑related experience required.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following site procedures and emergency response activities.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service, alarms, routine requests, and critical incidents using campus systems and protocols.
• Maintain logs and incident documentation, including dispatch activity, calls for service, and communications with responders and agencies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with officers, supervisors, and campus stakeholders.
• Monitor channels, alarms, cameras, and access systems, report unusual activity and escalate concerns as needed.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Emergency Communications in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service, alarms, routine requests, and critical incidents using campus communication systems and established protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation, including dispatch activity, calls for service, and communications with responding personnel and local agencies as applicable.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, coordinating timely communication with officers, supervisors, and campus stakeholders.
• Monitor communication channels, alarms, cameras, and/or access‑related systems as assigned, reporting unusual activity and escalating concerns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security‑related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
