Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time in Columbus, OH to provide reliable, flexible hours with a fixed anchor shift and the opportunity to pick up additional shifts across sites.

The role offers a pay rate of $18.50 per hour and requires responsible customer service, access control, and incident response. Eligible applicants will be subject to background checks and drug screening where permitted.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• A drug screen will be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out access‑control procedures.
• Monitor and control access points for associates, vendors, deliveries, and visitors.
• Verify credentials, maintain visitor and vendor logs, and communicate concerns to site leadership.

As a Security Guard - Enhanced Part Time in Columbus, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points for associates, vendors, deliveries, and authorized visitors in accordance with established procedures.
• Verify credentials, maintain visitor and vendor logs, and communicate access‑related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned retail areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and report security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
