Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the facility; ensure only authorized individuals enter.
• Conduct security patrols inside and outside the building; address safety concerns.
• Monitor security cameras; report incidents to management.
• Respond to disturbances, emergencies, or security threats per protocols.
• Maintain a log of incidents, visitor check-ins, and unusual activity.
• Assist with front desk duties; greet visitors and answer phones.
• Maintain records of visitor sign-ins and attendance; prepare reports as needed.
• Provide guidance to participants entering the facility; communicate program policies.
• Travel to other CSRI locations as needed.

We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, Staff, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2027 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary

$19.00-$22.00 per hour.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. Typically,8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday-Friday (with some evenings and Saturdays required). Must be able to work flexible hours, as needed.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Center Manager, the Security Guard will work independently to:

Security & Surveillance

• Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter.
• Conduct continuous security patrols both inside and outside the building to identify and address potential safety concerns.
• Monitor security cameras to detect suspicious activity and report any incidents to management.
• Respond to disturbances, emergencies, or security threats in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Maintain a log of security incidents, visitor check-ins, and any unusual activity.

Clerical & Administrative Support

• Assist with front desk duties, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of visitor sign-ins, deliveries, and participant attendance.
• Support staff with filing, data entry, and preparing reports as needed.
• Ensure all security-related documentation is updated and properly stored.

Participant Outreach & Engagement

• Provide guidance and assistance to participants as they enter the facility, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment.
• Communicate program policies and expectations to participants in a professional manner.
• Assist in disseminating program information, event details, and resources to clients.
• Report any participant concerns or issues to case workers or appropriate staff.

Some travel to other CSRI locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required;

• Experience working in a social services or reentry program setting.
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
