Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Guard Armed Patrol Driver in Butner, NC. You will provide security services, conduct armed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents within a correctional setting. A valid driver’s license is required; armed guard card is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and contractors by following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally, following post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and access points to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry points, verify credentials, and report suspicious activity or violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate patrol/incident reports and logs for site personnel and responders.

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities within a correctional setting.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access and movement through designated entry points, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs for patrol activities, incidents, observations, and communications with site personnel and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
