Job summary

Allied Universal in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a Security Guard Armed Patrol - 1st Shift to protect client sites across manufacturing and industrial locations. You will monitor, deter, and respond to security concerns while providing courteous service.

This full-time role requires an armed guard card, high school diploma, and reliable schedule with weekday shifts. You will complete reports, log visitors, and collaborate with site leadership to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior production areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials as assigned, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access-control concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate escalation procedures and documenting events accurately.
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment, complete required reports, and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
