Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services provider, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on protecting clients at a logistics and distribution site, managing access, delivering customer service, and supporting a safe, professional environment.

The position offers a part-time schedule with early morning shifts. Qualifying candidates have at least 1 year of security experience, are 21 or older, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, including verifying identification, processing authorized visitors and contractors, and maintaining required access records.
• Observe entry and exit points, loading areas, and designated access-control locations to help deter unauthorized access and report irregular activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading zones; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

• Mon 05:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Tue 05:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Wed 05:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Thur 05:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Fri 05:00 AM - 10:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
