Salary Range: $17.00 To $19.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The Security Guard helps maintain a safe, secure, and orderly facility by monitoring security systems, observing activity, verifying deliveries, conducting routine patrols, and promptly reporting security concerns.

This position provides scheduled security coverage for the facility. Regular and reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependable shift coverage are essential. The Security Guard must report to work on time, remain at the assigned post throughout the scheduled shift, and follow established notification procedures when an absence or delay is unavoidable.

Essential Functions

Security Responsibilities 40% of job

• Monitor facility camera and security systems.
• Observe employees and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Help ensure that employees, visitors, and delivery personnel follow established security protocols.
• Verify deliveries entering and leaving the facility.
• Document and promptly report security incidents, concerns, and policy violations to the Security Supervisor.
• Walk the facility perimeter daily.
• Monitor the overall safety and security of the facility.
• Identify and report unusual or suspicious activity.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding security matters and company information.
• Remain attentive and available throughout the scheduled shift to help prevent gaps in security coverage.

Shipping Supply Prep 40% of job

• Prep FedEx and UPS boxes
• Maintain clean/organized storage room so prepped supplies are not mixed in with unprepped supplies
• Maintain standard minimum quantities of supplies equally with other security guard
• Pull supplies for shipping when needed
• Unload freight supply trucks when needed

Delivery Responsibilities 5% of job

• Receive and sign for packages entering the facility.
• Monitor delivery personnel while they are on company property.
• Ensure that delivery personnel follow company security procedures.

Cleaning Responsibilities 10% of job

• Dispose of company garbage according to established procedures.
• Clean designated areas of the building weekly.
• Follow company safety and security procedures while completing cleaning duties.

Additional Responsibilities

Miscellaneous Duties 5% of job

• Complete authorized errands and deliveries.
• Perform other duties related to facility security and operations as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dependable work history demonstrating consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to pass a background check.

• Ability to follow security policies and established procedures consistently.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn camera and security systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, including shifts of eight hours or longer.
• Ability to view security monitors for extended periods.
• Sufficient vision to observe facility activity and monitor security systems.
• Manual dexterity and general mobility sufficient to perform patrols and other assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college coursework.
• Two or more years of experience in a security position.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

9:00am-6:30pm
Must have flexibility to stay beyond 6:30 and to work from 7am-6:30pm when needed to cover asbsence of other security guard
