Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA. We are seeking a security-focused team member to patrol grounds, manage front desk sign-in and badge distribution, and ensure all staff and students wear ID badges for a safe environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of security experience. A valid driver’s license is also needed, with opportunities for professional development and career

Responsibilities

• Patrol center grounds and monitor safety of staff, students and visitors.
• Manage front desk, guest sign-in and temporary badge distribution.
• Ensure IDs are worn by staff and students and report any security issues.
• Assist with accountability of student check-in/out per policies.
• Respond to emergencies and fire alarms and help coordinate safety measures.
• Promote and adhere to facility safety practices.

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts,days vary with occasional overtime.

Whatyou will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for patrolling center grounds, manages front desks for guests sign-in and temporary badges distribution, monitors that all staff and students wear ID badges, and ensures the safety of staff, students, and visitors. Control, surveillance, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors.

Essential functions:

1. Secure building and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment’ maintain log of findings and corrective action taken
2. Perform parking and traffic control duties
3. Answer telephone calls and greet and assist visitors.
4. Assist supervisors and manager assuring accountability of students check-in and out according to established policies and procedures.
5. Assist in transporting ill or injured students as required.
6. Respond to fire alarms, take necessary steps to report fires, assist in suppressing fires and resent fire alarm equipment
7. Promote, support, and adhere to safety practices throughout the facility.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year security experience.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
