Job summary

Cardinal Group Companies is seeking a Security Officer to protect our student housing community. Maintain a visible presence, monitor access and patrol the premises to ensure safety and a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, responding to emergencies, and providing courteous service while coordinating with management and local authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in emergencies.
• Basic computer skills for reporting/documentation.
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods.

REPORTS TO: Community Manager

SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and professional Security Officer to support the safety and security of our student housing community. The Security Officer will maintain a visible presence on the property, monitor access, conduct routine patrols, and respond to incidents in a courteous and timely manner. This role plays a key part in creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and guests.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

• Patrol the property regularly to deter unauthorized activity and ensure resident safety
• Monitor building access, cameras, and security systems
• Enforce community policies and report violations as needed
• Respond to emergencies, safety concerns, and resident requests for assistance
• Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
• Provide excellent customer service while interacting with residents and visitors
• Communicate effectively with property management and local authorities when necessary
