Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to protect employees and property at our Newton, IA location. The role includes patrolling facilities, controlling access, and serving as the first point of contact for visitors.

You will investigate incidents and support the security administration program while upholding Arcosa policies. Responsibilities include monitoring for unlawful activity, preventing theft, and providing assistance to staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Ability to obtain Non-Commission Security Officer License.
• Ability to work shift work including days, swing, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to support company operations. Unarmed Security Officers play a key role by providing security for our employees and property. The Security Officer conducts regular monitoring of our property, as well as serving as the first point of contact for visitors entering the building or property, which may vary from location to location. This individual also assists with investigating on-site incidents, preventing theft, and calmly mitigating escalated situations. Additionally, the Unarmed Security Officer acts as a liaison between customers, visitors, and employees, and prepares documentation necessary to support the security administration program.

What You’ll Do

• Perform security patrols by company vehicle and/or on foot, depending on location.
• Monitor property and report any unlawful activity.
• Prevent the theft or misappropriation of any goods, money, or other items of value.
• Protect individuals or property, including but not limited to proprietary information, from harm or misappropriation.
• Control access to the premises.
• Investigate and take the appropriate action as authorized on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety, and fire.
• Neutralize situations calmly with tact and common sense.
• Enforce Arcosa policies and procedures.
• Provide any needed assistance to customers, employees, or visitors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Plant Management.
• Prepare and maintain records and documentation pertaining to incidents, and other security officer administration.
• Ability to work either shift - May change based on production needs.

What You’ll Need

• High school education (or equivalent) required.
• Ability to obtain Non-Commission Security Officer License.
• Ability to work shift work required, days, swing, nights, weekends, and holidays year-round.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interface effectively with individuals of all levels.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Prior knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience and enforcement of procedures and policies preferred.
• This position requires the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Working Conditions

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays.
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.

Safety Activities

• Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to safety glasses, safety boots (Metatarsal Guard Required), hearing protection, etc. as required.
• Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
