Position Summary
Our Armed Security Officers guard industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Essential duties and responsibilities will be outlined in assigned post orders.
- In the event of an active shooter, immediately respond by moving toward shots fired to effectively neutralize the threat.
- Follow all assigned post orders, both general and specific.
- Apply use‑of‑force rules based on the situation, employing graduated force to ensure that only the force necessary to subdue or detain is used.
- Patrol buildings and grounds of industrial plants or commercial establishments, docks, logging camp areas, or work sites.
- Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public rooms; confer with management; interview guests and employees; and interrogate persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.
- Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Set thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to determine whether tampering has occurred.
- Register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
- Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Notify staff of the presence of persons with questionable reputations.
- Permit authorized persons and regulate vehicle/pedestrian traffic at the plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.
- Drive a radio‑equipped vehicle through the client’s establishment, check alarms, and locate sources of alarm.
- Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
- Contact supervisor by radio or telephone to report irregularities and obtain further instructions.
- Write investigation and automobile usage reports.
Pay
United States: $19.20 per hour.
