Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Security Guard to safeguard team members, assets, and operations in a manufacturing setting. The role monitors activity, controls access, conducts routine inspections, and supports shipping while adhering to policies.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and the ability to work independently, across shifts including nights and overtime. Physical fitness to patrol and inspect is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant activity and maintain security throughout the facility.
• Conduct hourly security rounds, verify trailer and room temperatures, and gate access.
• Monitor and document associates, visitors, and vehicle traffic entering/leaving.
• Operate weight master scales and weigh trailers entering/leaving the plant.
• Answer and direct incoming switchboard calls after hours.
• Bill outgoing loads and maintain shipping documentation.
• Enforce company policies and security protocols.
• Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Inspect trailers for cleanliness, condition, and operability.
• Receive and document shipments of supplies and raw materials.
• Maintain logs and reports related to security and plant activity.
• Report unusual activities or safety concerns to management.
• Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, company assets, and operations. This position monitors plant activity, controls facility access, conducts routine security inspections, supports shipping and receiving functions, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. The Security Guard must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor plant activity and maintain security throughout the facility.
• Conduct hourly security rounds, including verifying:
  • Trailer temperatures
  • Room temperatures
  • Gate security and access points
• Monitor and document all associates, visitors, and vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility.
• Operate weight master scales and accurately weigh trailers entering and leaving the plant.
• Answer and direct incoming switchboard calls after business hours.
• Bill outgoing loads and maintain required shipping documentation.
• Follow, enforce, and help implement company policies, procedures, and security protocols.
• Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Inspect trailers to verify cleanliness, condition, and operability before use.
• Receive and document shipments of supplies and raw materials.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to security and plant activity.
• Report unusual activities, safety concerns, security incidents, or policy violations to management.
• Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Security experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of basic software applications.
• Experience with scale operations, shipping documentation, or facility access control systems.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
