Job summary

MonkeyJar in Dallas, TX is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to perform protective, preventative and safety-related enforcement across the site. You will patrol indoors and outdoors, monitor cameras, control access, and respond to emergencies with courtesy and professionalism.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior security experience preferred. Strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to stand for long periods are essential; weekend and holiday availability

• Respond to intrusion, fire, and health/safety incidents.
• Maintain legible duty and visitor logs.
• Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Coordinate with police, fire and emergency medical personnel.
• Other contract-specific duties as may be required by the contract.

Perform protective, preventative, safety and security related enforcement functions touring facility to ensure the safety and well-being of customers, visitors and staff. Implements and monitors all security operations in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats.

Major Responsibilities

• Maintaining security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the secure facility
• Maintaining a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times
• Monitoring surveillance systems for intrusion and unauthorized activities
• Controlling access of employees and/or visitor
• Responding to intrusion, fire, and health/safety related incidents
• Maintaining legible duty and visitor logs
• Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Coordinating with police, fire and emergency medical personnel
• Other specific duties as may be required by the contract

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous security experience preferred (prior military highly desirable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Ability to quickly learn the layout of the facility, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas
• Fingerprint card, current CPR/First Aid certification requiredAbility to pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions or revocations within the past 7 years
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property
• Must have the ability to communicate in English
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
