• Enforce parking assignments and direct traffic as needed.
• Respond to Manpower and Security Assist codes and other security incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

Job Description

The Security Guard is the hub of activity, the source of information to patients and visitors, and the first point of contact for the community regarding requests and inquiries. The guard must proactively seek to be helpful and ensure all special needs are met. Responsibilities include performing routine rounds, maintaining a safe and secure environment at Olean General Hospital properties (interior and exterior), greeting patients and visitors, assisting them to their destination, enforcing parking assignments, responding to Manpower and Security Assist codes as required, and performing other duties as requested.

Education & Credentials

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current Security Guard Registration with the New York Department of State, Division of Licensing Services (Article 7A).
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training with annual refresher courses.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience

Must be able to take control during stressful situations.
