This position is responsible for security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents and staff. Security responsibilities include patrolling the buildings and grounds and responding to all emergencies during the security shift.

Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Security Guard. This position is responsible for security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents and staff. Security responsibilities are to police the buildings and grounds and respond to all emergencies on the campus during the security shift.

In This Role, The Security Guard Will

1. Respond to emergency call system.
2. Evaluate the need to notify on-call personnel and follow procedures accordingly.
3. Call 911 in emergencies and coordinate with emergency responders.
4. Check and secure all security equipment, patrol the campus.
5. Secure all exterior doors in all buildings.
6. Challenge any trespassers on campus property.
7. Monitor vehicle traffic and enforce traffic policies.
8. Familiarize with campus layout, equipment areas, emergency systems, and procedures.
9. Know utility shut-off locations and fire panel operations.
10. Write incident reports and document safety hazards.
11. Report safety hazards and submit maintenance requests via WorxHub.
12. Provide emergency maintenance or housekeeping services if needed.
13. Offer non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with security duties.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least two years of security or related experience.
3. Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a good record.
4. First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
5. Proficiency in reading and writing English for communication.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, friendly demeanor, and customer service orientation.
7. Ability to follow instructions and observe details.
8. Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions.
