Job summary

Allied Universal in Cary, NC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to provide customer service and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will conduct patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, document observations, and coordinate with site leadership to ensure security policies are followed. This role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to grow within a national security company.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established school district and site procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, directing individuals to appropriate locations and reporting access concerns to designated personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Pay Rate: $17.06 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Wed 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Thur 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
