Job summary

EKG Security, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Security Flex Officer. The role covers fixed and roving patrols across client sites, delivering professional customer service and maintaining a visible, unarmed security presence.

You will observe, deter, and report incidents and respond quickly to critical situations. The position requires 18+ years, a valid driver’s license, 2+ years security/military experience, and the ability to work all shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to meet state age requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or GED; an associate’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years security experience and/or military/LEO experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours and work outdoors in varied weather.
• Must be able to pass background checks and any state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide fixed and roving patrols at client sites.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a professional ambassador.
• Observe, deter, and report unusual or unauthorized activities.
• Respond quickly to incidents and emergencies.
• Read and write detailed incident and shift reports.
• Enforce client procedures and safety standards with professionalism.

As a crucial part of our flexible security team, you will be responsible for providing reliable, unarmed protection and service across our client sites.

• Enforce client procedures, regulations, and standards with professionalism.

What You’ll Bring To The Table As Our Security Flex Officer

• 18+ years old or the minimum age required by the state.
• Customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED; possessing an associate’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of security experience and/or military/LEO.
• Great communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge to operate the radio, telephone, and console monitors.
• Authorization to legally work in the United States.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Access to reliable transportation that allows for short‑notice response throughout the area.
• Ability to complete crisis prevention training and site‑specific training before serving as a qualified security officer.
• Ability to pass any state‑required training or other qualifications for licensing.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (8+ hours).
• Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to reach over your head with 10‑25 lb loads.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs, with loads up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and use ladders.
• Ability to work at a desk and use a keyboard.
• Ability to work any shift, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, including weekends and holidays.
