Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Firefighter-EMR in Lyndora, PA. This full-time role pays $20.34 per hour with paid training, uniforms and equipment provided, and weekly pay. EMT certification is required prior to employment, along with a valid driver’s license.

The Firefighter-EMR protects people and property, detects and reports incidents, and responds to emergencies with basic life support. Rotating day and night shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Licensing requirements may be required before employment.
• Health License as EMT or higher.
• Must have current CPR/AED Certification.
• Must pass physical and Fit Test for SCBA.
• Must obtain annual Hazmat Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120).
• Must obtain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and safe vehicle operation ability.
• Intermediate computer skills to operate wireless technology at sites.
• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Able to perform firefighting duties, operate tools, and wear SCBA (~70 lbs).
• Able to work in cold rain snow heat and lift up to 80 pounds.

Allied Universal Services is seeking the position of a Firefighter-EMR.

The Firefighter-EMR is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. The Firefighter-EMR acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, as well as detects and reports suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Health License as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher
• Must have current CPR/AED Certification
• Must pass physical and Fit Test required for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Must obtain and maintain annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)
• Must obtain and maintain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146)
• Must possess or be able to obtain any additional state requirements for a firefighter EMT
• As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
• Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
• Safely respond to emergency incidents, fight fires, mitigate hazardous material incidents, rescue trapped persons in confined spaces, and administer basic life support (BLS) treatment.
• Able to perform firefighting duties including advancing hose lines, fire apparatus pump operations, safely operate power tools, climb ladders, and wear firefighter protective gear including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing approximately 70 pounds.
• Able to:
  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 80 pounds
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
