Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced technician to perform service and new installation commissioning on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems in the Jacksonville, FL area.

You will supervise on-site installation, diagnose equipment issues, and provide cost-efficient recovery solutions while maintaining high customer service standards. Proficiency with case-by-case field technology and safety policies is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion and intercom systems
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electricity and electronics; aptitude for troubleshooting systems and repairs
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service
• Be able to carry and move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds
• Minimum high school/trade school graduate, military, or two year Associate degree in a technical field involving electronics or computers
• Working knowledge of Windows (XP/7) and Microsoft Office; IT network systems
• Ability to use hand and power tools and test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform service and new installation commissioning activities on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems
• Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specifications
• Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing and troubleshoot field wiring problems
• Provide solutions to restore a system to normal condition with cost-effective methods
• Manage assigned electronic systems service calls with regard to field labor hours
• Prepare daily activity reports
• Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, schematics and manuals
• Work overtime as required
• Capable of climbing ladders or scaffoldings and working in confined spaces
• Comply with OSHA and JCI safety policies and procedures

What you will do

Perform service and new installation commissioning activities on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.

How you will do it

• Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specifications. Field coordination and communication, system programming, commissioning, AHJ testing and training on new systeminstallations
• Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshooting potential field wiringproblems
• Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient andcost effectivemethod in restoring a specific system back to normal condition
• Manage assigned Electronic Systems service callsin regards tofield labor hours estimated
• Customer satisfaction through coordination, response to customer requests and problems and clear communication skills
• Prepare reports on dailyactivities
• May berequiredto workovertime
• Read and understand complicated blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, software/system programs, and operation/productmanuals
• Required to lift and or carry equipment and tools, which may be over forty (40) pounds Working environment may involve climbing ladders and scaffoldings with equipment, upwards to forty (40) feet Capable of working in cramped workspaces such as ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Must adhere to all OSHA and JCI safety policies andprocedures
• Complete mileage and monthly vehicle reportsin a timely manner

Preferred

• NICET certification
• Security experience with P2000 or C-Cure 9000

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29.00 – $40.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
