Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a Program Manager within the Advanced Security Initiatives Group (ASIG) to lead cross-functional security projects and drive improvements in product security posture. You will define plans, allocate resources, and manage schedules and budgets across multiple initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineers, security specialists and product teams, delivering complex programs on time while mitigating risks. Strong PM and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors + 7 years of related experience, or Masters + 4 years, or PhD + 1 year.
• Technical background in application and product security
• Strong project management skills, prioritization skills and proactive communication
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize complex security projects and initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles.
• Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending.
• Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
• Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
• Works independently but receives minimal guidance and direction from leader then determines best approach to accomplish work.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Understands project and/or department needs and establishes relationships with appropriate cross-functional stakeholders to gather input, collect information and complete work steps.
• Manages a small number of mid-sized projects or programs with moderate to high risk, and multiple interdependencies (e.g., multiple features)
• Reviews project milestones against predetermined key performance indicators and reports consolidated project/program status and financial information to leadership
• Manages complex risks and proactively anticipates and manages scope creep; executes on plans to mitigate and eliminate impediments and facilitate flow
• Allocates and continuously evaluates resource needs (training needs, tools, funding) and develops action plans for optimal resource utilization.
