Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead a global team safeguarding AWS's operational network through the full device lifecycle.

You will guide engineers in access controls, vulnerability management, and security validation, leveraging AI/ML and automated reasoning to detect and respond to threats. You will collaborate with Infrastructure Security and cross-functional partners to raise the security bar, own metrics, and drive innovations in security practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
• 5+ years in a software security environment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Info Security, or related field.
• Knowledge of web services security, cryptography, and OS security.
• Experience with threat modeling or risk identification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of security engineers focused on network boundary protection.
• Define and execute the strategic vision for securing AWS's operational network.
• Drive adoption of AI/ML-powered security solutions, including anomaly detection and ML for exposure identification.
• Own end-to-end security validation processes, ensuring policy enforcement at scale.
• Partner cross-functionally with Infrastructure Security teams to identify gaps and reduce risk.
• Establish and track operational metrics to measure team effectiveness and threat detection.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top security engineering talent.
• Communicate security posture, risks, and priorities to senior leadership.
• Champion automation, tooling investments, and process optimization to stay ahead of evolving threats.
