Job summary

AWS Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) seeks a Sr. Manager, Security Engineering to build and lead the security team protecting production AI systems deployed worldwide inside customer environments.

You will own the security delivery model, embedding security engineers with delivery pods, and ensuring AWS standards without slowing delivery velocity. You will guide security outcomes across multiple programs, set cadence and staffing, manage senior engineers, and maintain trust with customer

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on security engineering experience
• 10+ years of risk assessment enabling organizations making security decisions
• 10+ years of team management and building experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years hands on building AI/agentic systems

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a distributed team of security engineers embedded in FDE engagements
• Define and operate the FDE security delivery model, staffing pods and secure outputs at scale
• Own security delivery across multiple concurrent programs and prioritize resources
• Partner with FDE delivery leadership, AWS Security, and service teams to align security strategy with business objectives
• Make high-judgment security risk decisions for complex customer environments and escalate when needed
• Engage with customer security leadership (CISOs, VPs) to establish trust and resolve escalations
• Drive the FDE security roadmap, identify capability gaps, and build scalable security assets
• Travel up to 25% as required
