Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services seeks a Security Engineer I to support security solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments. You’ll collaborate with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Applications to embed security into technology solutions, manage operations, and assist audits.

Ideal candidates have a cybersecurity background, 2+ years in information security, and a strong foundation in networking, scripting, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in information security engineering or IT security.
• Experience administering security solutions and operational designs.
• Networking fundamentals incl. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and hybrid identity.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and processes of security solutions per strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as technical administrator across network, endpoint, cloud, identity, and applications.
• Assist in operating security technologies ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Perform routine vulnerability scans and assist remediation tracking.
• Maintain security tools so they remain up to date and functional.
• Assist with audits, evidence collection, and regulatory requirements.
• Operationalize new security tools, platforms, and services to improve posture.
• Collaborate with IT and application teams to ensure secure processes.
• Support incident response activities and monitor the queue per SLA.
• Develop and maintain security standards, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to security awareness culture across the organization.
