Job summary

Figure AI, a San Jose-based AI robotics company, seeks a Security Engineer for the Security & Privacy team. You will assess security for embedded systems and backend services, and design mitigations across the hardware and software stack.

Applicants should have hardware reverse engineering, firmware security, cryptography, and low-level security (C/C++), with strong collaboration skills to protect user privacy and enable secure product development.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded system security domains including hardware reverse engineering, firmware security, and cryptography.
• Strong electrical engineering skills and ability to reverse engineer hardware interfaces and protocols.
• Solid foundation in software security, esp. low-level security (C/C++).
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while prioritizing tasks.
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in application/hardware security or related role.
• Passion for learning and helping others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments of embedded systems, hardware designs, and software integrations, and build tooling for secure development.
• Design technical solutions to mitigate security risks and work with teams to implement them.
• Build frameworks and systems to protect from common attacks and reverse engineering for embedded systems.
• Hunt for hardware security weaknesses and insecure design patterns on our product stack.
• Be a champion for security and user privacy.
