Job summary

Cape is seeking an experienced Security Engineer specializing in product security to reduce risk across AWS cloud environments, mobile core infrastructure, and mobile apps. You will design, implement, and enforce security controls, mentor staff, and align security with regulatory standards while collaborating across engineering and product teams.

Role emphasizes secure by design, cloud-native security, and cross-functional partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of information security experience, with at least 3 years in cloud security within AWS.
• Deep understanding of AWS architecture, security services and best practices for securing cloud apps and data.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation) and automating security tasks in AWS.
• Scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, or Go for automation and tool integration.
• Familiarity with containerization and microservices; securing stacks with these techs.
• Solid knowledge of network security, encryption technologies, and secure coding practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security controls and policies in AWS to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Conduct comprehensive security assessments of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
• Lead integration of security practices into the DevOps lifecycle for secure development and operations.
• Utilize AWS security tools (GuardDuty, Inspector, IAM, KMS, WAF, Shield) and evaluate third‑party solutions.
• Address findings from penetration tests and security audits with timely remediation.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory mandates; guide security strategy and technologies.
• Mentor junior security team members and engineers to foster security awareness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to embed security requirements into engineering projects.
