Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Security Engineer to design and scale the Bridge security foundation. This role will build a security program from the ground up, leveraging Stripe’s mature security practices and tooling to protect global money movement.

You will lead threat modeling, implement monitoring and access controls, and ensure compliance across regulated markets while collaborating with crypto, infra, and product teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering.
• Experience building security programs at startups or embedded roles.
• Strong threat modeling and risk-based prioritization.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the Bridge security roadmap from first principles to production.
• Identify and tackle the most important Bridge security risks quickly and pragmatically.
• Integrate with Stripe infrastructure where it makes sense; design custom solutions where needed.
• Lead threat modeling and hardening efforts for Bridge money movement systems with crypto and infra teams.
• Build security capabilities: monitoring, secrets management, incident response, access controls, CI/CD hardening.
• Reinforce secure development practices and enterprise-grade security controls.
• Ensure Bridge meets compliance and audit expectations as we scale to regulated markets.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and Stripe security to move fast without compromising safety.
