Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Security Engineer on the Agent Security Team to design and implement robust security frameworks for agentic AI systems. You will develop threat models, collaborate with the Agent Infrastructure group, and lead safety monitoring enhancements to scale across deployments.

You will apply deep expertise in container security, kernel hardening, and cloud security, while communicating effectively with product, research, and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping and operating secure, high-reliability services.
• Deep expertise in modern isolation techniques (container security, kernel hardening).
• Hands-on network security experience with identity-based controls and telemetry pipelines.
• Strong communication to bridge engineering, research, and leadership; able to influence roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement security controls for agentic AI, including identity, network, and runtime defenses.
• Build production-grade tooling to harden safety monitoring pipelines at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance security, performance, and usability.
